Samsung CLP-300N - Network ready colour laser on a budget

With a price less than many mono lasers the Samsung CLP-300n colour laser printer seeks to replace the inkjet as the choice for small offices. The cost of consumables has been one of the issues making colour laser printers previously inaccessible to small work group users, but Samsung have addressed this by making the Samsung clp-300 toner cartridges smaller. This means they yield fewer pages than the average Samsung toner cartridges (1,000 pages for each colour and 2,000 pages for black) but still give a reasonable cost per page of 2p for black and 10p for colour. With such a low price for a colour laser printer there are inevitably going to be a few compromises, but with the CLP-300n they are not huge compromises. One of which is because the CLP-300n is so compact and while this is great for space saving, it means there is very little room for a large paper tray and the result is a meagre 150 sheet capacity. Another compromise is the colour printing speed of 4ppm, this is down that fact that the CLP-300n is a carousel printer which means that each colour is built up on the imaging drum before being transferred to the paper, which results in a colour document taking four times longer than a mono one. There are no compromises on the print quality however the CLP-300n performs brilliantly printing all types of mono and colour documents. The machine has been designed to be as user friendly as possible from the initial setup to changing the printer cartridges. The CLP-300n is network ready and the perfect solution for small work groups.
